The trail was originally built in 1918 to serve as a supply route for Navy’s Indian Head Powder Factory but has since been transformed into a runner and biker paradise. Charles County is also home to a disc golf course, hunting grounds, skatepark, and equestrian facilities.

Charles County is a definite dog-friendly community with White Plains and Turkey Hill dog parks both within the county. These public off-leash facilities allow Fido and friends to run around and play in a safe, fenced-in area.
